Paul Newman oozed cool. While most of his obituaries will talk about his performances in such classics as “Cool Hand Luke,” “Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid,” “The Hustler” and “The Color of Money,” I will remember him best as Reggie Dunlop in “Slap Shot,” the trash-talking, womanizing player-coach of the Charlestown Chiefs hockey team.

Miracle” is a more accurate representation of what the sport is all about and overall better film, but “Slap Shot” is what every current or former player will recite to you as the quintessential hockey film.
