I love stories like this

Two Carpentersville men were charged with burglary after police said they were caught with stolen jewelry stuffed in their pockets.

Local police were called at 1:30 a.m. Wednesday to Arturo’s Jewelry after a break to the front window triggered an alarm in the 100 block of North Kennedy Drive, which also is known as Illinois Highway 25.

Police said they found the men by following fresh footprints in the snow from the store. The mile-long trek led authorities from the back door of the store to the Meadowdale apartment complex on Ollie Court, where Roberto Carillo lives and where they found the two with more than 50 pieces of jewelry worth more than $2,000, Commander Tim Bosshart said. I realize we’re already dealing with some dim individuals when you’re talking about them thinking a smash-and-grab scheme is one that will work out in their favor, but you really have to question whether there is an ounce of intelligence when they do it during a snowstorm.
