I realize I already posted a video today. I don’t even want this on my page but it pissed me off enough that I felt it needed to be shared. So click through to see it. You only really need to watch from the 3:00 point on. It shows an illegal bike race through the streets of downtown Los Angeles and it seems like the cameraman makes a point of filming the traffic signals at intersections as these “cyclists” bomb through red lights and cars that have the right-of-way are forced to stop to avoid hitting them.

Yes, most cyclists run stop signs and the occasional red light when there’s no traffic approaching the intersection. And yes, the cyclist will always lose in a collision with a car or truck, so the people in this video are really just putting their own lives at risk by acting stupid.

But irresponsible, dangerous riding like this is what creates animosity toward cyclists and thus makes the road that much more dangerous for those of us who don’t ride like assholes.
