I get that the Bears only have a couple of games left and some asshole pundits were considering them a Super Bowl contender before the season started and Jay Cutler could throw his first interception, so they’re getting their licks in while they can. But when the Blackhawks absolutely dominate the team that knocked them out of the Western Conference Finals last season and record their third shutout in four games in the process, wouldn’t you think it should at least push aside evergreens like the “Best Chicago sports moments of the decade” and the Milton Bradley piece as a top sports story?

The funny part is, I think things will continue to be like this even once the Bears are golfing and the Bulls are continuing to lose night after night because Chris Kuc, the only sportswriter on the Tribune staff with an ounce of hockey knowledge, is so busy being the only reporter on the Hawks beat he probably doesn’t have time to write a column — if they’d even give him one.

I can’t wait to call out the bandwagon hacks when they start suddenly writing about the Blackhawks around playoff time like they’ve been paying attention all season. The archives are the best evidence to prove otherwise. And I’ll be sure to screen cap them for posterity’s sake.
