Every time I turn on the TV or radio the past couple of days I keep hearing headlines like “New trouble trouble for Tiger Woods today” before it goes into some spiel about another sponsor limiting the marketing they use with him or dropping him altogether.

Here’s a news flash for the media: He is not in any trouble. Tiger Woods is a billionaire.

Let me be more specific. Tiger Woods is the first athlete in the history of sport to earn $1 billion in his career.

Unless he’s blown said billion on escorts and booze, his only problem is that if his alleged sex addiction comes knocking, his wife’s kitchen is probably permanently closed. And even if they do divorce and the prenup gives her half, that still leaves him with a few hundred million more than most of us will make in our lifetime.

It would be nice if the media stopped acting he’s hanging onto life by a thread. Dude got banished from his couple-million-dollar house to live on his 155-foot, $20 million megayacht.
