I (chuck) first started messing around with music on the computer about two and a half years ago with the distinct goal of making mash-ups. I had always loved the 2 Many DJ’s mixes, and then Girl Talk’s Night Ripper blew my mind, and I really wanted to create something in the same genre. So with that goal in mind I started messing around, and few months later came out with Blood Rain. At 18 minutes, it’s way shorter than anything Girl Talk ever made, but with about 100 songs played in that short time, the same feel is achieved. A little while after Blood Rain came out, some guy on the internet suggested that it might even be better than Night Ripper. But he was obviously just trying to sleep with me, so whatever.
When Blood Rain first came out, I didn’t really know what I was doing as far as sound mastering and everything went. Now that I know a bit more about that stuff, I thought it might be a good idea to go through, get the levels a bit more sorted, get the mix a bit louder, and re-release it. Even though the raps feel a bit dated at times since the mix is super zeitgeist-y (Mims, Rich Boy, etc.) it is still very strong, and definitely withstands the test of time. It is also a very fun thing for the summer! Below is a list of all the songs I used so you can get an idea of the magical experience you are about to have.
